Canadian Championship Dummy Roping

Want to rope for a Canadian Championship title in Ponoka?! Want to win a Smarty Shorty just for entering?! Thanks to our friend Kolton Schmidt, all of our early birds will be entered to win a Shorty!
Early bird deadline October 1. Entries close October 15.
Contestants are required to provide their own rope and must be in full western attire.
When you arrive…1. Check in, receive your back number.
2. Pay your entry fees & sign your waiver. $25/child. We’d love it if you have exact change.
3. Pick up your contestant bags. We have one for each child so please see our helper to have your name checked off the list.
4. Get ready to rope.
We’ll have a helper making sure the kids go in order, up onto the stage.
6 & unders are allowed one parent or helper if required, to build their loop or what have you.
Rules: BOYS/GIRLS – 6 & under: 3 legal head catches, 1 helper & fishing allowed BOYS/GIRLS – 7-9: 3 legal head catches, no helper, no fishing BOYS/GIRLS – 10-12: slick horns ONLY, no fishing. Each contestant gets 3 chances – only those who rope all 3 advance to Reaching Contest.
In the BOYS/GIRLS 10-12 we have made it progressive to save time. Anyone stepping on or over the line is disqualified. Judges decision is final.
In the Reaching Contest, each category starts where they left off for distance. Each kids ropes one, miss=done, catch=move to next round.
